Which way you go depends on where you're trying to get

Things have change many times since the last time I remembered to check my deviant art page.

For starters, I made it to UTD. I was accepted, made it through orientation, and talked to advisor before I was informed none of my out of state credit hours transfered. I get to be a freshman again, but things could be worse.

Personal life has been more than bumpy. I wont go into details but I think I've developed some kind of serious physical anxiety problem over the last two and a half months.

On a positive note, I have a very successful job now at which I was recently promoted. And my new apartment has a little more space than the studio I used to occupy. That and I bought an xbox 360. How did I ever get by without one?

I've switched majors from photography to mechanical engineering. I love art, but I vowed not to be poor whether I grow up alone or I have a family. I see those near me that focused on art in college. Most are struggling to pay for there own art. The only ones who get to enjoy their talents are those who find alternate methods of paying for their necessities.  

Not to bring down any other ambitious artists out there. Many artists turn out to be independently successful. And even more, some people prefer the ability to create over the ability to fit into their 'niche' in society. Its a balance of chaos and creativity that you see in so many truly talented artists.
